Anegada is the northernmost of the British Virgin Islands (BVI), a group of islands which form part of the archipelago of the Virgin Islands. It lies approximately 15 miles (24 km) north of Virgin Gorda. Anegada is the only inhabited British Virgin Island formed from coral and limestone, rather than being of volcanic origin. While the other islands are mountainous, Anegada is flat and low. Its highest point is only about 28 feet (8.5 m) above sea level, earning it its name which is the Spanish term for the flooded land, “tierra anegada”.
Anegada is known for miles of white sand beaches and the 18-mile (29 km)-long Horseshoe Reef, the largest barrier coral reefin the Caribbean, and the fourth largest on earth.
Anegada is home to some of the best Lobster and fish dinners in the Caribbean and almost all of the Lobster and fish served in the BVI’s are caught in Anegada. We will make sure that you make a stop at the best beach bar/restaurant for dinner, sit outdoors and feast on spiny lobster pulled fresh from the water that day. Or, enjoy a succulent fish from the local fishermen, or try the unparalleled baby back ribs, barbecued chicken, lamb chops, or steak.
This Island is perfect to chill-out and wind down. This is the ultimate Caribbean getaway – where the rest of the world seems a million miles away and where your troubles really do melt away.
